Rivalry Reborn

Back in the day the New Orleans Saints and the St. Louis Rams used to share a rivalry as well as spots in the NFC West division. The Greatest Show on Turf was the name of the Rams offense that featur Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, and Torry Holt were among a few back them that made them the favorites versus the Saints and most of the NFL even though the Saints upset them on more than one occasion. Numerous years later, many changes in players, a reset in divisions and an area code change for the Rams, and the rivalry is becoming what it once was.

With Drew Brees and Jared Goff leading more than capable offenses, this upcoming matchup should be another good one. Hopefully the referees let the teams determine who is better though.

With some back and forth play, there are numerous things the Saints need to do to collect a win. On the offensive side if the ball, the Saints need to do exactly what they did last week, except start out faster. Once Drew was able to start spreading the ball around allowing as many people as possible to get touches; the Saints became unpredictable and more efficient. The Rams offense may allow points, but they create turnovers and force mistakes which can ultimately give them an edge. Mistakes need to be reduced like every week. On the defensive side of the ball, the pass rush needs to be disruptive from all points of the offensive line on a consistant basis; not just Cam Jordan. The Saints defenisive line is very capable of this as they get healthier and get deeper into the season. The pressure created will be needed to assist with the coverage on 3rd downs which wasnt consistant last week. The Rams have 3 capable receivers with a lot of experience playing together therefore the pass rush is critical as well as defensive back ball skills when the ball is on the way. This rivalry has recycled itself into a new era. There is plenty of excitement for the September 15, 2019 match up, especially after last years referee cant see gate. Tune in and get hyped for the squad. WHODAT!!!!
