Recap Week 9 N.O. vs L.A.

The Los Angeles Rams were dealt their first loss of the season by the New Orleans Saints in a game the Rams never saw a lead. The game lived up to all of its hype and then some, jam packed with excitement from start to finish . The Saints dominated almost all of the game, coming up with the big plays at all the right moments. By the end of the game there was a combined almost 1,000 yards, 80 points scored, and a rocking Super Dome behind a 45-35 Saints victory.

The Saints opened up the first half unstoppable and scored on every drive, except for one where Mark Ingram fumbled the Saints only turnover. Alvin Kamara scored a hat trick of touchdowns and led the Saints to a 35-17 lead by the end of the first half. The Rams started playing like the Rams in the second half and by the fourth quarter, they had tied the score up. Our hometown hero, Drew Brees, decided it was time to dial up a play to finish the game off and hit Michael Thomas in perfect stride for a 72 yard touchdown that put the game away.

Drew Brees had another MVP type game going 25-36, 346 yards, and 4 touchdowns #Brees4MVP. Alvin Kamara led the way on the ground with 82 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns (3 TDs on the day) and Michael Thomas set a franchise record for receiving yards with 211 yards on 12 receptions and 1 touchdown. This game just proved further that the Brees, Thomas, and Kamara trio is the best in the game.

Next week the Saints will be in Cincinnati to play the 5-3 Bengals, coming off of their bye week. The Bengals will be without their all world wide receiver, A..J. Green, who is suffering from a foot injury. His absence should make the Saints secondary’s day a little easier. But that’s a week away and right now our Saints are the #1 team in the NFL, so we have much to celebrate. We’re not the only team celebrating this victory though. Somewhere down in Miami, Bob Griese and the rest of the 72′ Dolphins are pouring champagne and toasting to the Saints.
